Lessie Marie Hopkins Stone age 84 died Thursday Jan. 31, 2013 at her home in Fieldale.
She was born Dec. 12, 1928 in Henry County to the late Sanford Lee and Lelia Lester Hopkins. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and James Alvin Hopkins.

She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and had worked at Fieldcrest Mills.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Marvin Lee Stone of the home, three daughters, Dorothy Jean Swain of Stanleytown, Cynthia Faye Tilley of Winston-Salem, Carolyn R. Waldrup of Raleigh, NC, one brother, Vernon Hopkins of Fieldale, three sisters, Velma McGhee and Ann Stowe of Fieldale, and Betty Richardson of Martinsville, VA, and four grandchildren.

The funeral service was Saturday Feb.2, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Roselawn Chapel with Dr. David Towler officiating. Interment followed in Roselawn Burial Park. The family received friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the Roselawn Chapel.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Martinsville and Henry County, 320 Hospital Drive, Martinsville, VA 24112.
