Obituary

Lessie Crews Lewis age 87 of the Mount Olivet Road, Martinsville, died Wednesday December 8, 2010 at Winston Salem Baptist Hospital, Winston Salem, NC. She was born April 15, 1923 in Henry County to the late Tom and Ada Lewis Crews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Green "Bully" Lewis in 1995, her son Arthur Lewis in 2002, one granddaughter, Melissa Lewis, 2 sisters, Ina Greenwood, and Pearlie Keaton, and 4 half-sisters, Minnie Young, Betty Moore, Cosie Moore, and Rosie Rakes.
She was a homemaker, and a member of Chatmoss Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth Lewis of Martinsville, one sister Bessie Martin of Bassett, and one half-sister, Susie Colston of Bassett, four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Saturday December 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Michael Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday December 10, 2010 in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home of her son Kenneth Lewis, 1973 Mount Olivet Road, Martinsville.
Memorial donations may be made to the Dyers Store Volunteer Fire Department, Hwy. 57 West, Martinsville, VA 24112.
