Leonard Filmore Hurd, Jr., 78, of Martinsville, passed away Monday, December 11. 2023. He was born December 27, 1944, to the late Leonard Filmore, Sr., and Mary Carter Hurd. He was a member of Collinsville Covenant Brethren Church and served in the United States Army.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Whittaker Hurd, brother, James Hurd, and sister, Janet Bennett. Surviving are two sons, Timothy and Brian Hurd, two daughters, Candace H. Roark, and Tammy H. Wells, brother, Barry Hurd, five sisters; Phyllis H. Shockley, Lois P. Ware, Jenifer H. Dudley, Carol H. Hopkins, and Mary H. Frith, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 15, 2023, at Collinsville Covenant Brethren Church, with Rev. Roy McVey officiating.
