Kenneth Garner Prillaman, 82 of Forest, VA, went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2016 after a battle with cancer. He was born October 25, 1933 in Martinsville to the late Lafe Pence and Pearl Gauldin Prillaman. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a sister, Norris P. Miller, and two brothers, James A. and Andrew Otis Prillaman.
Kenneth was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He worked for American of Martinsville for 28 years in accounting. He graduated from Martinsville High School, National Business College, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict with the Army Security Agency during his tour of duty in Korea. He was awarded the "Cross of Honor" from the United Daughters of the Confederacy in 1979 for his honorable service during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church in Rustburg, VA, and he was a faithful servant of God.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eloise Mayhew Prillaman of the home, two sons, Randall Prillaman of Raleigh, NC, Michael and wife Susan Prillaman of Forest, VA, two sisters, Zada P. Oakes of Dry Fork, VA, and Clara P. Davis of Martinsville, two brothers, Berkley and Norman Prillaman of Martinsville, two grandchildren, Bennett Prillaman, and Heather Prillaman and her fianc Ray Loftis, and several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service will be Thursday June 16, 2016 at 11:00 am in Roselawn Burial Park with Pastor Rick Magee and Rev. Marvin Hiner officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park with military honors by the Martinsville and Henry County Veterans Honor Guard.
