Katherine Elaine Sowder Mullins, age 43, of Sandy Ridge, NC, passed away on June 30, 2016 at the Moses Cone Hospital, NC. She was born on June 13, 1973 in Martinsville to Edward P. Sowder, Jr. and Linda Hutcheson Sowder of Stuart. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Lee Sowder.

She was of the Baptist faith and had worked as a Paralegal.

In addition to her parents she is survived by a son, Justin Lee Sowder of Collinsville, two daughters, Megan L. Harter of Stuart and Chelsea N. Mullins of Rocky Mount, two brothers, Jimmy Johnson of Charlotte, NC and James Hutcheson of Moneta, a sister Lisa Hudson of Charlotte, NC and one grandchild, Kensley Rea Lawson.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Schelling officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2:00 p.m. in the chapel.
