Katherine Janell Motley Robbins age 82, formerly of Bassett, died Saturday Jan. 19, 2013 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. She was born March 25, 1930 in Henry County to the late Uriah Taylor, Sr.,. and Lilly Mae Gardner Motley. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her son John W. Robbins, two brothers, Uriah Taylor Motley, Jr., and Gerald E. Motley, and three sisters, Theresa Critz, Burnice Lacks, and Lynwood Snead.

She was a member of Starling Ave. Baptist Church, and was a graduate of Martinsville High School, Class of 1948. She retired from Nations Bank with over 10 years of service.

She is survived by one daughter Theresa Messer of Bassett, one brother, Rev. Julian M. Motley of Wake Forrest, NC, two grandsons, and one great grand daughter.

The Memorial Service will be Monday Jan. 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Dr. David Adkins and Rev. Julian Motley Officiating. Inurnment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the Roselawn Chapel.
