On April 19, the soul of June Kitts Leftwich departed this world of tears and pain to be with her God that she loved and served, to a new life of sunshine and happiness. At her death, she was surrounded by those who had so lovingly attended her needs these last few weeks of illness. She was born in Bland County, VA, the daughter of the late Charles Henderson Kitts and Stella Burton Kitts. She was a loving mother to James (Joyce) Leftwich and Nancy (Floyd) Steele.
She was Nana to her grandchildren Justin (Brianne) Leftwich, Joshua (Hannah) Leftwich, Jillian Leftwich, Joy Ellen Leftwich, Jenna (Ethan) Vogel, Floyd Steele III, Christopher Steele, and Katherine Steele, and to her great grandchildren Simon Leftwich, Vivien June Leftwich, Andrew Leftwich, Gloria Leftwich, and Rosemary Leftwich.
She is also survived by her loving and caring sister Nancy Bradshaw and her nephew Charles Bradshaw.
She was a faithful member of Stanleytown United Methodist Church. At Stanleytown she enjoyed singing in the choir, playing bells and creating floral arrangements for the sanctuary.
Contributions can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or Stanleytown United Methodist Church.
A private family memorial was held at Roselawn Cemetery.
She loved to travel, she loved her flowers, she loved her family and she maintained her wonderful and mischievous sense of humor to the very end.
