Obituary
Juanita Smith Deatherage age 81 of Martinsville passed away on Thursday Jan. 30, 2014 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. She was born October 19, 1932 in Henry County to the late Howard Lee, Sr. and Euna Frazier Smith. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Joseph E. Deatherage in 1990, and her daughter Janet Deatherage Grogan in 1996.
Juanita was a Graduate of Martinsville High school Class of 1949, and a member of Stanleytown Baptist Church. She was also Co-owner and operator of Deatherage Auto Center with her husband Joe.
Mrs. Deatherage is survived by her son and daughter in law, Gerald E. "Jerry" and Judy Deatherage of Bassett, four grandchildren, Joseph E. Deatherage, II of Roanoke, Stephanie Reynolds of Martinsville, Elizabeth Wilson of Bonn Terre, Missouri, and Michael Wilson of Bassett, seven great grandchildren, Travis Reynolds, Shane Reynolds, Joshua Reynolds, Khysara Reynolds, Brandon Grimes, Brody Henson, and Gabriel Wilson, and one brother, Howard Lee Smith, Jr. of Eden.
Services will be announced at a later date
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Martinsville Henry County SPCA, 132 Joseph Martin Hwy., Martinsville, VA 24112 or T.R.A.S.H. Ministries, Virginia Ave., Collinsville, VA 24078.
Arrangements are provided by Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home.
