Joyce McEssey Burland Kingsfield age 97 of Martinsville, passed away peacefully on Friday Sept. 25, at her home. She was born January 6, 1918 in Fond du Lac, WI to the late John Leo and Elizabeth Karst McEssey. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by two husbands, Graydon C. Burland and Otto Kingsfield, a daughter, Callie Lou Burland, and two brothers, Robert McEssey and Eugene McEssey.

Mrs. Kingsfield was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Martinsville, and was a college graduate with a business degree. She was a homemaker and worked in the printing business for 15 years.

She is survived by her son, Timothy Clark Burland of Berrien Springs, MI, and her daughter, Sue Burland Lance of Martinsville, five grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be Thursday Oct. 1, 2015 at 12:00 noon, in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Daniel Royo officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home on 9505 Chatham Road, Martinsville.
