John Edward "Jack" Mattingly, Jr., 69, of Bassett, passed June 25, 2026.  Jack was born in Washington, D.C., on January 21, 1957, to John E., Sr. and the late Gladys Hayden Mattingly. Jack was a retired painter for the Landow Co., served in the United States Army's 82 Air Borne Division, and attended Restoration Ministries.

In addition to his father, Jack is survived by his wife, Angilia Kay Lampkin, two sons and a daughter-in-law; Johnpaul, and Maria Mattingly, and Christopher Joseph Mattingly, one brother, David Mattingly, and sister, Brenda Norman.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 A.M. July 9, 2026, at New Life Church, LaPlata, MD. family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment services will be held 11 A.M. Friday, July 10, 2026, in the Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home and family will receive friends one hour prior to services beginning at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be private in Roselawn Burial Park.
