John Willard Hackney, 66 of Danville, Virginia, passed away of August 10, 2021. He was born on April 18, 1955 to the late Bernard H. Hackney and Essie Martin Quinn. John was a proud veteran of the Army as a Sergeant. He later became a truck driver, where he retired. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by three brothers; Bernard, Melvin, and Jessie Hackney.

Surviving are his wife; Sharon Lynn Hackney, daughters; Jessica Jordan and Mary Lively, sisters; Jeanie Carol Moore and Joyce Anne Stewart, nieces; Melynda Moyer, Kristy Hackney, and Jessica Hackney, and eight grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, August 13, 2021 located at Roselawn Burial Park, with Clayton Murphy officiating.
