Jewell Mabry Stone age 87 of 416 Clearview Drive, Martinsville, died Saturday June 18, 2011 at Stanleytown Health Care Center. She was born September 3, 1923 in Carroll County, VA to the late Edward and Hattie Dalton Mabry. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband Benton Stone in 1998, one daughter, Maybelle Hall, one son, Dale "Bobby" Thomas, one grand daughter, Wendy Foley, 4 brothers, Virgil, Vestal, Paul and Emory Mabry, and one sister, Edna Young.
She was a member of Clearview Baptist Church, and retired from DuPont with over 29 years of service.
She is survived by one son, Darrell Thomas of Martinsville, one daughter, Donna DeHart of Bassett, two brothers, J.C. Mabry of Martinsville, and C.W. "Billy" Mabry of Collinsville, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Tuesday June 21, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Rev. Ron Gardner officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the Roselawn Chapel and at other times at the home on 416 Clearview Drive, Martinsville.
