Obituary

Jewel Nadine Flowers Critz, 96, of Martinsville, found her home in heaven on Wednesday, February 12, 2020.  She was born in Georgia in 1923 to Susie Weeks Flowers and Robert Flowers and grew up in Florida before moving to Virginia for marriage, work, and family.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Critz; daughter, Linda Critz Frazier; brother, Cleveland Flowers; and sisters, Nita Davis and Virginia Gilley.

The oldest of her 6 siblings, she is survived by her sisters Melba Spencer, Barbara Yates, and Betty Norman.  She was a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews, and enjoyed regular visits and care from Pat Dennis.

As the matriarch of her family, she showed loving support through her faith and her home-cooked family meals.  She was a member of One Accord Baptist Church and a former member of Critz Baptist.  She adored her grandchildren, Wes Frazier and Jenny Frazier Call (married to John Call), and her great-grandchildren, Justin Frazier, Brady Call, and Maryn Call.

The family is grateful for the care she received through Mountain Valley Hospice and Blue Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 14 th at 2pm in the Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with Director Kelly Ratcliff officiating.  The Family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the services beginning at 1:30pm.
