Jettie Arlene King Chitwood, 90, passed Sunday, December 7, 2025, prior to her passing she was living with her daughter, Sandra, in Archdale, NC. Arlene, born in Patrick County, Virginia, on Monday, June 10, 1935, was the youngest of the thirteen siblings of the late Samuel and Jettie Mae Gammons King, Arlene was retired from DuPont after 30 years of service. She enjoyed working in her yard and garden, were she planted flowers and groomed her yard with pride. Arlene's yard was the envy of the community. Neighbors and passers by, would always comment on her yards beauty. She enjoyed NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt Sr, and Dale, Jr., she enjoyed baseball, UNC Basketball, and watching Price Is Right. She enjoyed Christmas time, the hanging of decorations. She enjoyed spoiling her kids and grandkids. One of Arlene's proudest accomplishment in her life, was raising her two girls on her own, and while working the swing shifts at DuPont.
In addition to her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by her first husband, the father of her two daughters, Charles Craddock, and her husband, Albert Chitwood, seven brothers; Harvey, Percy, Aldie, Willie, Elmer, Carlos, and Warren King, and five sisters; Mary Etta, Mamie, Gladys, Mildred, and Lena and both sons-in-law, Ray DeHart, and John Poe. Arlene leaves to cherish her memory, and legacy, two daughters, Debra C. Poe, and Sandy C. DeHart (Trampess), five grandchildren; John Poe (Rachel), Jerry Poe (Heather), Michelle Robinson, Cody DeHart, and April Clark (Peter), eight great-grandchildren; Chelsea Theiss (Michael), Chase Poe, Anna Keith (Caleb), Elizabeth Poe, Jordan, and Caleb Rohrer, and Casey and Kinsley Clark, along with several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Arlene's life will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 17. 2025, in Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services beginning at 12 Noon, the interment will be private.
