Jesse Daniel Maxie, Jr., age 75, of 613 Forrest Street, Martinsville, died on October 11, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. He was born in Danville to the late Jesse D. Maxie, Sr. and Dora Duncan Maxie. In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Maxie Bonniwell and a brother, Frankie N. Maxie.
He was of the Methodist faith. He had worked in Security with American Furniture for over 28 years.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Lynskey Maxie of the home, two sons, Jesse D."Danny" Maxie, IIII, and Joseph F. Maxie both of Martinsville, two daughters, Lisa Hodge and Dora Ann Maxie both of Martinsville, one sister, Martha L. Reynolds of Danville and ten grandchildren.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Bud Sedwick to officiate the service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Roselawn on Friday.
