Jeffrey Dean Gann, 61, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. Jeff was born on March 13th, 1963 in Reidsville, North Carolina to Fay Nelson Gann and the late Fred Gann. Jeff brought joy, a smile, and a sense of adventure to all who knew him throughout his life. He was deeply devoted to and passionate about his family, husband to the late Shawn Gann and father to his beloved son, Drew. He cherished every moment spent together.
Jeff's love for his pets and the outdoors was evident to all who knew him. He found happiness in nature, whether canoeing on the river or enjoying a quiet moment of bird watching. Jeff and Drew even enjoyed a good trip on the roaring rapid waters. His home was filled with the warmth and companionship of his pets, who brought him great joy and comfort. Jeff was also an avid sports fan and devout Atlanta Braves fan. He enjoyed attending and watching games with friends and family; it was a fun way for him to connect with people.
From an early point in his career, Jeff was a standout. He was a beloved member of his community, proud of the work he did and the wonderful relationships he built with his customers. Jeff was known for his dedication, friendliness, and the genuine care he showed to everyone he met. His customers became friends who appreciated his hard work and spirit.
Jeff was the most thoughtful, caring, and incredibly supportive husband, father, son, and friend. He loved the beach, always taking the time to appreciate life's little moments. He will be remembered for his kind heart, great advice, and brilliant sense of humor. His legacy lives on through his son and in the many memories shared with friends, family, and colleagues. Jeff was lucky to have so many dear friends that were like family to him. He cherished the moments that were shared and we thank all of you for bringing so much joy to his life.
In addition to his father, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Shawn Gann. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Drew and Samantha Gann, and one brother and sister-in-law: Freddie and Catherine Gann.
Services will be held Friday, May 31, 2024, where the family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 P.M. prior to the funeral services which will be held at 1:00 P.M. in Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
