Jay Thomas Jackson, age 71, of 7360 Fairystone Park Hwy., Bassett, died on March 04, 2013 at his residence. He was born on August 12, 1941 in Ridgeway to the late Delbert Lester Jackson and Everliah Ruth Knight Jackson. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Donald Jackson and a grandson,Thomas "Tommy" Ray Sloan.

He had worked at Bassett Furniture and had worked in construction before becoming disabled.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy Webb Jackson of the home, his son, James Allen Jackson of Bassett, three daughters, Marilyn Dodson and Melissa Campbell both of Bassett and Audrey Spencer of Fieldale, three brothers, Delbert Jackson of Ridgeway, Ronnie Jackson and Howard Jackson both of NC, three sisters, Geniveve Compton of Ridgeway, Flossie Spencer of Henry and Virginia Robertson of Mayodan, NC, and ten grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Carson Williams officiating the service and interment following in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Roselawn and at other times at the home.
