Janet Frith Lester age 78 of Collinsville, passed away Tuesday March 8, 2016 at Hospice of Virginia in Richmond. She was born May 26, 1937 in Martinsville to the late Ernest T. and Gladys Cassady Frith. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brothers Roy and Jim Frith, her sister Betty Frith Bassett, nephew Eddie Frith, and niece Lisa Frith.

Janet attended Martinsville High School and National Business College. She worked at DuPont, was a homemaker, and later worked and retired from the Henry County School System. She had attended Starling Avenue Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband George T. Lester III of the home, two daughters, Victoria "Vicki" Lester and Catherine "Cathy" Lester both of Richmond, nieces Sherry Bassett Brookes and Julia Bassett Livingston both of Greensboro, and nephew Jeb Bassett of Martinsville.

Her funeral service will be Friday March 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Roselawn Chapel with Rev. Dr. Dennis Knight officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
