James Edward Reynolds age 72 of Bassett, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday Nov. 17, 2016 at his home. He was born Oct. 28, 1944 in Franklin County to the late Hollace E. and Frances Motley Reynolds. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by one brother, Johnny Reynolds.
He was a member of Henry Fork Church of the Brethren, and was employed as a welder for 21 years with Prillaman and Pace, and 15 years with Reliable Welding. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Robertson Reynolds of the home, one son, Eric Conway Reynolds of Rocky Mount, one daughter and son in law, Cindy and Tim Tatum of Axton, four brothers, Gary Reynolds of Martinsville, Donald Reynolds of Rocky Mount, Jason Reynolds of NC, and Kenny Reynolds of Callands, two sisters, Brenda Hodges and Elaine Cummings both of Rocky Mount, two grandchildren, two step grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and four step great grandchildren.
His funeral service will be Monday Nov. 21, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the Chapel at Roselawn, and at other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carilion Hospice, 309 S.
