James Thomas O'Dell, age 86, of 121 Clearview Drive, Martinsville, passed away on Monday, December 07, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Patrick County on August 25, 1929 to the late William Leath and Prince Anna Craig O'Dell. He was predeceased by his first wife Kathleen Higgs O'Dell, a son, Larry T. O'Dell, Sr., brothers, Harry, Clarence, Roy, Bill, Moir, and Troy O'Dell, and sisters, Eldean Gilley, Pearl Gilley and Myrtle Gilley.

He was of the Baptist faith and before retiring, was owner/operator for 50 years of O'Dell's Body Shop.

James is survived by his wife of 43 years, Yome Smith O'Dell of the home, daughters, Judy O. Biggs of Ridgeway and Regina L. Koger of Bassett, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The family deeply appreciates the care and support they received from the Mountain Valley Hospice and Pallative Care.

His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015 in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Chaplain Jeff Rhea officiating the service. Entombment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Friday in the chapel of Roselawn and at other times at the home.
