James Lester "Jimmy" Roberson age 49 of Martinsville, died Friday May 4, 2012 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. He was born June 10, 1962 in Martinsville to the late Moyer Walker Roberson and Christine Walker Roberson Willis of Martinsville. In addition to his father, he was also predeceased by his brother Charles Campbell, and his step father Harvey Willis.
He was a member of Highland Baptist Church, and was self-employed in dry wall construction.
In addition to his mother, Christine Willis of Martinsville, he is also survived by two sons, Eric Roberson of Tennessee, and Derek Roberson of Martinsville, three daughters, Kim Whiteley of Fieldale, Angie Carr of Richmond, and Vickie Roberson of Collinsville, two brothers, Bobby and Billy Roberson of Martinsville, nine sisters, Linda Harris, Frances White, and Anita Eanes of Martinsville, Rosa Tidpole of Horsepasture, Betty Stump of Roanoke, Renee Coleman of Collinsville, Marilyn Hall of Bassett, Lisa Willis of Ridgeway, and Patty Turner of Rocky Mount, VA, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The funeral service will be Wednesday May 9, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Mike Dyer officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday night May 8th, in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home of his mother at 2041 Appalachian Drive, Martinsville.
