James Curtis "JC" Murdock passed away July 6, 2018 in Newark, NJ.  JC was born July 1, 1995 in Roanoke, VA. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Tom Turton and

Donald Murdock.

He was of the Baptist faith, and graduated from Tuntstall High School, Class of 2014. JC loved the outdoors, where he camped, hunted and fished. He was self-employed.

JC is survived by his parents, Curtis Edward and Dana Turton Murdock of Ferrum, grandmothers, Clara Turton of Bassett, and Lorene Murdock of Axton, his birth mother Tammy Cunningham and husband Tony of Bassett, his fiance' Allyssa Dolinger of Wirtz, son Liam John Curtis Murdock of Wirtz, brother Russell Eldridge of Martinsville, sisters, Amanda Walthall, of Bassett, Shawna Murdock of Ferrum, Olivia Martinez, of Bassett and special aunt and uncle, Patricia and Robert Richards of Axton.

His funeral service will be Friday July 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Terry Covey officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
