James D. Hanley, 81, of Bedford, VA, died on November 17, 2019 at Lewis Gale Medical Center. He was born July 5, 1938 to the late Lawrence Chester Hanley and Delta Mae Carey Hanley. Mr. Hanley was proud of his services in the United States Marine Corps, and was retired as a local government official in the zoning.  Hanley is survived by wife; Hester Sue Payne Hanley, son; Rick Hanley, and sister; Hope H. Pentrey Jones.The service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with Rick Hanley officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors at Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home.
