Obituary

James Donnie Guynn, age 59, of Stuart, died on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Roanoke. He was born on May 22, 1955 in Winston-Salem, NC to Jesse James Guynn and the late Dorothy Mae Stillwell Guynn.

He was of the Baptist faith and had been a self-employed contractor before becoming disabled. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his father, Jesse James Guynn and step-mother Margie Guynn of Stuart, two sons, Michael Lee Riggs of Bassett and Billy Joe Guynn of Raleigh, NC, a daughter, Stephanie Guynn of Martinsville, two brothers, Neal Guynn of Patrick County and Ronnie Guynn of Bath, PA, four step-brothers, Rodney Milligan and John Dean both of Bassett Richard Milligan of Stuart and James Dean of Welcome, NC, four sisters, Bobbie Lackey of Ridgeway, Bonnie Snodgrass of Bradenton, FL, Tammy Bowles of Martinsville and Regina Bullins of Bassett, one step sister, Rosetta Sprinkler of Stuart, and four grandchildren

His graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John Canning officiating the service and military honors by the Martinsville Henry County Veterans Honor Guard in the Roselawn Burial Park. Mr. Guynn's Pallbearers will be Jeff Lackey, Doug Billings, Shane Mills, Kenny Sprinkler, Gary Higgs and Richard Milligan. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his father, Jesse Guynn, 693 Foley Road, Stuart.
