James William Fulcher, age 89, of 818 Hodges Farm Road, Martinsville, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. He was born on August 02, 1926 in Henry County to the late Buford and Hallie Fulcher Fulcher. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Gail Fulcher, and a foster son, Larry Cobbler.
He was a member of Spring Street Baptist Church. He had worked for Stone Funeral Home and Ambulance, and had been a funeral attendant with Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Shirley M. Fulcher of the home, a step-son, Mark Eugene Rakes of Martinsville, a sister Jeanie Ryne of Summersville, NC, three step-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
His graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Roselawn Burial Park with Pastors Nick McCorquodale and Howard Owens officiating the service. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Roselawn.
