Obituary

James Howard Eames age 93 of 11111 Sontag Road, Martinsville, died Saturday Feb. 20, 2010 at the Trinity Mission of Rocky Mount. He was born September 27, 1916 in Franklin County to the late Richard Daniel and Lora Lee Bowles Eames. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers, Carroll, Jack, Clifton, Raymond, and Herbert Eames, and eight sisters, Doris Mitchell, Elizabeth Mason, Hazel Bousman, Irene Bousman, Mary Clark, Gladys Matherly, Louise Cundiff, and Goldie Eames.
He was a veteran who served in the National Guard, and the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and the VFW.
He is survived by his wife Mazie Wall Eames of the home, two daughters, Nancy Eames Noble of Rural Retreat, VA, and Kitty Eames Pedigo of Snow Creek, VA, one sister Imogene Bowles of Rocky Mount, four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
The graveside service will be held Tuesday Feb. 23, 2010 at 2:00 PM in Roselawn Burial Park with Rev. Bob Button officiating. Graveside military honors will be rendered by the Martinsville & Henry County Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Navy. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, and at other times at the home on Sontag Road.
