May 22, 1932 – December 2, 2018
James Cleavon "Jim" Tosh age 86 of Collinsville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday Dec. 2, 2018 at his home. He was born May 22, 1932 in Franklin County to the late Benjamin and Mary Williams Tosh. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by one son, James Wayne Tosh, and three brothers, Edgar, Alvin, and Clinton Tosh.
Jim was a member of Ft.Trial Baptist Church where he served six years as a Sunday school teacher, was a graduate of Franklin County H.S., Class of 1950, was a U.S.
Air Force Veteran rising to the rank of A1C, was the owner operator of Tosh Tire Town for 25 years, was the owner of Martinsville Business Machines and Cash Oil Sales. He was also a former member of Retail Merchants Association, and the Martinsville Henry County Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Juanita P. Tosh of the home, two sons, Mark Tosh of Collinsville, and Philip Tosh of Salem, VA, three daughters, Cheryl Sue Tosh of Danville, Doris Tosh Laprade of Rocky Mount, and Rebecca Russ Vaughn of Lewisville, NC, one brother, Billy Tosh of Rocky Mount, three sisters, Mayree T. Robertson and Margie T. Prillaman of Rocky Mount, and Joyce T. Ross of Roanoke, grandchildren, Mechele Brown, Patrick S. Layton of Huntsville, AL, Bridget T. Boisvert of Martinsville, Kevin M. Swanson of Richmond, VA, KaRenda J. Laprade of Rocky Mount, and other grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The family especially wants to thank the outstanding Caregivers, T.T., Sherie, and Jean.
Jim's funeral service will be Friday Dec. 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Rev. Dr. Joey McNeil officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home. Online condolences may be entered at www.roselawnchapelfuneralhome.com .
