Obituary

Jacob Lawrence "Jake" Kipfinger age 72 of Princeton, WV died Thursday September 22, 2011 at Princeton Community Hospital. He was born November 22, 1938 at Carswell, WV to the late Roy and Ethel Arthur Kipfinger. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by one brother, Rev. David Kipfinger, Sr., and one sister, Lillian Turpin.
He was a graduate of Welch High School and served four years in England with the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Eastern Associated Coal Co. for 16 years as a section boss at Keystone #1 Mine, and later retired from Bluefield Gas Co. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Princeton where he sang in the choir, and was a member of the Helen Jones Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Bonnie Cornett Kipfinger of the home, one brother, Roy Kipfinger, Jr. of Aurora, CO, three sisters, Jane Griffith of Pensacola, FL, Katherine Eddy of Port St. Lucie, FL, Ethel Musick of Bluewell, WV, and nieces, two nephews in Henry County, David and Kelly R. Kipfinger of Martinsville, and nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday September 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Rowland H. Bailey Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Revs. Betty Shields and Mike Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with military graveside rites by the WV National Guard Honor Guard and the Mercer County Veterans Council. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday September 25, 2011 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
