Obituary

Jack Douglas Wright, age 86, of Collinsville, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Blue Ridge Rehab Center, Martinsville. He was born on February 18, 1929 in Franklin County to the late Hobart and Winifred Prillaman Wright. He was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas Wright and a sister, Cathrine Jones.

He was a member of Lighthouse Church of the Brethren and had worked for 36 years as an electrician for DuPont. He had graduated from Franklin County High School, class of 1947 and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Blondell Slaughter Wright of the home, a son, David Wright of Mechanicsville, two sisters, Joanne Holland of Rocky Mount and Betty Lou Morris of Roanoke, and four grandsons, Chris (Manuela) Wright and Tyler Wright both of Fayetteville, NC, Daniel Wright and Evan Wright both of Mechanicsville.

His funeral service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Ann Mitchell officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park with military honors presented by the Martinsville Henry County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Roselawn.
