Hubert Haywood Scott, age 85 of Ridgeway, passed away on May 31, 2017 at the Franklin Health and Rehab Center, Rocky Mount. He was born in Franklin County to the late Artie and Essie Sims Scott on November 14, 1931.

He was of the Christian faith. He graduated from VPI and he was a school teacher for over 34 years in the Henry County School System, with Bassett High School. He had served in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alice Brumfield Scott of the home, his son Tony B. Scott of Ridgeway, his sisters, Kathlene Compton and Jean Dennis both of Collinsville, one granddaughter, Christina Scott Coleman and two great-granddaughters, Emily and Abagail Coleman.

His funeral service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Knighton officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Roselawn.
