Henry (Bear) Wallace Mullins, 66, of Martinsville, VA, passed away on November 20, 2021. He passed away due to chronic illness. Henry was born in Richlands, VA on February 10, 1955 to Sarah Elizabeth and Leonard Mullins. He grew up with siblings Elizabeth Mullins Dye and Jody Mullins. Henry was raised in the Appalachian Mountains and transitioned from a coal miner to a mechanic/fixer of everything. Throughout Henry's entire life if he wasn't inventing, fabricating, welding the next Hotrod or machine he wasn't happy. He had a very genius and complex mechanically inclined mind and ability.
In 1977, he fell in love and married Marsha Donita Linkous. Within the first year they had started a family, complete with Tony, Tory (Brian) and Tish. Henry and Marsha have been married for 44 years. Henry was a strong, stern but loving, and humbly simple father and husband. His knowledge, wisdom and interests were the foundation of his family. In addition to his wife Marsha, daughter Patricia and wife Amy Teague and two sons, Tony and fiancé Casey Thompson and her son Adam and Tory (Brian) and wife Amy Linkous, Henry is survived by his brother: Jody and wife Karen Mullins of Richlands, VA, sister: Elizabeth Dye and husband Jackie of Raven, VA, Grandkids: Toni Briana, Brenden, Adin, Kendra, Tori and Gage and great grandson: Lucian Akio. Nieces: Chrissy Johnson and husband Steve, Jenni Proffitt and husband Andrew, Molly Mullins, Becky Jessee and husband Randall Nephews: Jackie Dye (Bubby), Leonard Mullins, Rusty Mullins and wife Heather, several cousins, great and great great nieces/nephews and many friends that were very dear to his heart. Henry was also survived by a very special cousin Robbie Martin of Lebanon, Va. and a special young lady he adopted as his granddaughter, Necole Long. He was preceded in passing by his Mother Sarah Elizabeth and Father Leonard Mullins.
The family has honored his request that he be cremated. There will be a celebration of life held at Fairview Baptist Church (75 Fairview Church
Ln, Martinsville, VA, 24112) on Saturday, December 4th at 10am. His family will be present to welcome loved ones.
