Helen Seay Nelson age 76 of 455 Stones Dairy Road, Martinsville, died Monday June 27, 2011 at her home. She was born Oct. 3, 1934 in Henry County to the late Tony Stovall and Helen Stanley Seay. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Earnest Lee Nelson in 1992, her three brothers, Tony L. Seay, Elwood "Pete" Seay, and Lonzie Mason Seay, and four sisters, Elizabeth Wells, Eunice Gauldin, Gertrude Compton, and Frances Hundley.
She was a member of Victory Baptist Church, and retired from Bassett Furniture with over 25 years of service.
She is survived by two sons, Jeffery Lee Nelson of Martinsville, and Kenneth Wayne Nelson of Ridgeway, two sisters, Dora Marie McCrickard of Martinsville, and Doris Eldridge of Cape Charles, one grand daughter, and three great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Thursday June 30, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Shelling officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service at the Church, and at other times at the home on 455 Stones Dairy Road, Martinsville.
