Harvie Nunn, Sr. age 85 died Tuesday Sept. 24, 2013 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville. He was born Nov. 2, 1927 in Henry County to the late Joseph Edward and Annie Lynch Nunn. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by 4 brothers, Clarence, Paul, Melvin, and James Nunn, 6 sisters, Vergie Woodfine, Emma Brock, Gertrude Gravely, Mildred Stone, Beulah Cooper, and Hazel Hopkins.

Mr. Nunn was a WWII veteran serving in Italy during the Occupation period. He was a retired worker of the former Thompson-Arthur Paving Co. of Danville.

He is survived by two sons, Harvie Nunn, Jr. of Stockbridge, GA and James Leonard Nunn of Gloucester, VA, and one daughter, April N. Griffin of Martinsville, one brother Ernest Nunn of Ninetysix, SC, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

The memorial service will be Friday Sept. 27, 2013 at 5:00 pm in the Roselawn Chapel with military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard of Martinsville and Henry County. Inurnment will be private in Roselawn Burial Park.
