Harry Franklin Ferguson, age 70, formerly of Patrick Springs, died on October 8, 2010 at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount. He was born in Bassett to the late Samuel Davis Ferguson and Vina Smith Ferguson on July 23, 1940.
He was of the Baptist faith and had worked for CP Films before becoming disabled. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Samuel Davis Ferguson, and Timmy Wayne Spencer of Bassett, two daughters, Mary Marie Pomeroy of Nettie WVA, and Carol Jean Spencer of Bassett, five sisters, Sandra Richardson of Bassett, Peggy Brown, Sarah Holley and Joyce Spencer all of Henry and Patricia Schmidt of Memphis, TN, and nine grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park with military graveside honors by the Martinsville-Henry County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 11, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn.
