Obituary

Harmon Jackson "Jack" Hanshaw went Home to be with the Lord on Jan. 30, 2019 at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart, VA. He was born in Clay County, WV on Oct. 21, 1939 to the late Harmon Jackson and Salina Harold Hanshaw.  He was also predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters.

Jack was member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam Era, was a member of American Legion Pannill Post #42, and was a very active member of the Martinsville Henry County Veterans Honor Guard.

Jack is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sonia Jessup Hanshaw of the home, one son, Joseph C. Hanshaw of Reidsville, NC, one daughter, Christy Walls of Troutville, VA, one brother Delbert G. Hanshaw of Norcross GA, three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service for Jack on Tuesday Feb. 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Roselawn Burial Park with Pastor Louis officiating. Military Honors will be by the Martinsville Henry County Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will be in the American Legion Section of Roselawn Burial Park.
