Gloria Jean Ramsey Goodman, age 67, of 111 Mulberry Court, Martinsville, died on August 20, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. She was born in Martinsville on July 7, 1947 to the late Jesse Allen and Viola Stovall Ramsey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Goodman, Jr..

She was a member of Ridgeway United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Fieldale High School, and took additional classes toward a degree in Education. She retired from the Martinsville City School System as a remedial math teacher and substitute teacher. She was very involved with school and church activities in the local area, and was especially proud of her participation in the Emmaus Walk.

She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Thomas Goodman, of the US Army, Fort Huachuca, AZ, and David Allen Goodman and wife Stephanie Amos Goodman of Summerville, SC, a very special friend John Mooney, and other extended family.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 12 noon in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Tony officiating the service. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel, and at other times at the home on 111 Mulberry Court, Martinsville.
