Gilbert (G.T.) Thomas Riggs III, age 72, of Webster, Florida, put down the fishing pole for good on April 15, 2025, probably muttering something sarcastic on the way out. A proud husband, father, and grandfather, G.T. was a steady, stubborn, and endlessly dedicated presence in the lives of those who loved him. He spent most of his adult life working in construction as a pipe fitter. G.T. was a kind of man who could build or fix just about anything, and usually with a story (or complaint) to go with it. He loved a good fishing trip, a cold water, and his dog, Hank, not necessarily in that order. G.T. was a man of few words when it came to feelings, but you always knew where you stood with him. He showed love through hard work, sarcastic advice, and a sense of humor that kept the family laughing whether he meant to or not. (And let's be honest, sometimes he meant to.) He was our rock, gruff on the outside, loyal to the core, and always willing to lend a hand (or an unsolicited opinion). We'll miss his stories, his perfectly timed one-liners, and the way he could turn even the simplest day into a memory. His legacy is built into everything he touched: from the buildings he helped create to the hearts he helped shape. We'll carry on with a laugh in his honor, a cooler packed for the lake (fudge rounds included), and the kind of toughness he taught us by example.

G.T. leaves behind a family who adored him; his son, Thomas Riggs, grandchildren, Matthew Woolridge, Hunter Woolridge, and Caileigh Witcher, a great-grandchild, Nathan Woolridge, a small army of siblings and extended family, and a four-legged sidekick named Hank, who's probably still waiting for his next treat.  Rest easy, G.T. and save us a good fishing spot up there.

A Celebration of G.T.'s life will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 1, 2025, In the Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home, where friends will be received one hour prior beginning at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
