George William Davis, 83, of Martinsville, passed Sunday, August 16, 2026. He was born April 17, 1943, to the late Campbell Leonard and Mary Grindstaff Davis. George had worked for Sale Knitting of Martinsville and later retired as the manager of Druid Lanes Bowling of Martinsville. George was of the Baptist faith; he was a member of the Henry County Bowling Association. George graduated from Bassett High School in 1962. He was an avid bowler and spent many years coaching youth bowling at Druid Lanes. He loved Dodgers baseball, Washington football, and Virginia basketball. He loved spending time outdoors gardening, building, fishing at his pond, and holding cookouts for family and his bowling family.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his brothers; Kenneth, Larry, and James Michael Davis.

George is survived by his wife, Carolyn Davis, his son Randy Davis, and his daughter and son-in-law; Sherry D. and Mark Winn, a sister, Dana Nahstoll, one granddaughter, Jennifer Winn, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 21, 2026, in the Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Don Kindrick officiating. Interment will be private in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to services beginning at 10:30 A.M.
