Gennevieve Patricia "Pat" Jackson Compton age 77 of 1302 Phospho Springs Road, Ridgeway, passed away at her home on Tuesday June 21, 2016. She was born Feb. 13, 1939 in Ridgeway to the late Delbert and Everlia Knight Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by three brothers, Donald, J. Tom, and Ronnie Jackson.

She was a member of Highland Baptist Church, and had worked at Bassett Furniture and Nationwide Homes for many years.

Mrs. Compton is survived by her husband of 58 years, David Compton of the home, two daughters, Patricia C. Hodges of Bassett, and Brenda Sue C. Kurth of Martha's Vineyard, MA, two brothers, Delbert Jackson, Jr. of Ridgeway, and Howard Jackson of Raleigh, NC, two sisters, Virginia Robertson of Stoneville, NC, and Flossie Spencer of Henry, VA, three grandchildren, Kristy Lowery, Gennevieve "Jenny" Radford McGhee, and April Dawn Knight, and five great grandchildren, and her little dog BooBoo.

Her graveside service will be Saturday June 25, 2016 at 11:00 am in Roselawn Burial Park. Interment will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the home on 1302 Phospho Springs Road, Ridgeway.
