Freda Hall Sowers Nelson, age 81, formerly of Collinsville, passed away on October 12, 2015 at the Moses Cone Hospice Center, Greensboro, NC. She was born in Meadows of Dan on February 25, 1934 to the late Curtis and Hazel Dalton Hall. She was also preceded in death by a son, Mickey Sowers, a brother, Clinton Hall and three sisters, Wanda Hodges and Annette Guerrant and Jessie Ellington.

She was a founding member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Danville, and had retired after 22 years of service with E.I. DuPont. She attended the former Draper High School.

She is survived by a son, Billy Sowers and wife Gail of Henry, two brothers, Wayne Hall and wife Sherry, of Ridgeway and Dave Hall and wife Jean, of Franklin, NC, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Freda's funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Dalton officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Roselawn.
