Florence Ann Ward Puckett, age 84, of Spencer, died on Thursday, October 09, 2014 at the Forsythe Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Martinsville on June 5, 1930 to the late Sandy Ralph and Georgia Kate Padgett Ward. She was also preceded in death by her husband Elbert Clayton Puckett, a son, Sandy Richard Puckett, four brothers, Cecil Ward, Bill Ward, Ralph "Skinny" Ward and Robert Ward, and a sister, Myrtle Kendrick.

She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and a graduate of Spencer-Penn High School. Florence was a former co-owner/operator of Wards Store now known as C&B Market on Preston Road for fifty years.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Clayton "Clay" (Neda) Puckett of Spencer, her grandson, Jon Clayton Puckett of Richmond, two brothers, Paul Ward and Raymond "Doc" Ward both of Martinsville and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Ramsey officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Ward Family Cemetery in Spencer. Pallbearers will be Jerry Ward, Al Ward, Steve Kendrick, Todd Mize, John Ward, Gary Franklin, Charlie Perdue, Stan Vosper and Patrick Belton. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. on Monday in the chapel of Roselawn and at other times at the home of her son, at 585 Marigold Road, Spencer.
