Florence Purcell Ore, age 98 of the Blue Ridge Nursing Center, died on November 18, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. She was born in Patrick County to the late George E. and Lucy Minter Purcell on February 09, 1916. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Fred Ore, her brothers, David Purcell, Burton Purcell and Herman Purcell, six sisters, Ida Boaz, Claudia Young, Pansie Grady, Virginia Purcell, Eva Beck and Louise Carver.

She was a member of Broad Street Christian Church. She had been a secretary at Piedmont Trust Bank for many years to Charlie Broun and Irving Groves. She had graduated from Hardin Reynolds Memorial High School Class of 1934.

Mrs. Ore is survived by a sister, Gae Purcell Saville of Martinsville, many nieces and nephews and her special caregivers, Sarah Craighead, Elizabeth Pilson, Rosie King, Brionna Stanley and Rosie Price.

Her graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Roselawn Burial Park with Rev. Mark Parkinson officiating the service.
