Faye Iris Ashburn Collins, 89, of Collinsville, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. She was born December 27, 1934, to the late Ellis E. and Savannah Draughn Ashburn. Faye was a faithful member of Collinsville First Baptist Church and a member of Iva Turner Circle which she served as secretary and a member of Agape Sunday school class for as long as her health permitted. She retired from Fieldale Collinsville High School after many fond years working in the attendance office. She loved helping the students and thought of each one as one of her own. She was so loving of people and especially her cats. No two legged or four were going to go hungry if she could help it. She was an active member of " The Lunch Bunch", a monthly alumni reunion of Mavahi classes of '53 and '54. She served as Treasurer for the group. They made donations to support programs in the Martinsville school system. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Eugene Collins, one son, Joseph Scott Collins brother, Elbert Ashburn and her sister, Patricia A. Branch. Surviving are her son, Victor T Collins(Catherine), two daughters; Pamela C. Albanese and Penny C. Cox, seven grandchildren; Jon-Michael Albanese, Joseph Lee Collins, Savannah Caldwell Payne(Edward Lee) Ashley "Claire" Collins(Brian), Kaitlyn Elizabeth Broyles(Ben), Madison Collins Cox and Hannah Faye Collins, three Great-Grandchildren; Kaedance Cheyenne Albanese, Gavin Feazell, and Gentry Broyles, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 31, 2024, in Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Cheek of First Baptist Church Officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home and burial Park entrusted with arrangements.
