Faris Mattox Melton age 83 of Axton, died Saturday Feb. 9, 2013 at her home. She was born Nov. 28, 1929 in Henry County to the late Edgar Hampton and Grace Adkins Mattox. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by one son, Timothy Melton, and three brothers, Stuart, Howard, and Luke Mattox.

She was of the Baptist faith, and retired from Brown Products with 25 years of service.

She is survived by two sons, David Melton of Martinsville, and Greg "Fuzzy" Melton of Axton, one sister, Leah Minter of Stanleytown, three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be Thursday Feb. 14, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Rev. Kenneth McFarling officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 1:00 PM, prior to the service on Thursday in the Roselawn Chapel.
