Eva Waltraud Mahnkopf Young, age 86, of 1604 Sam Lions Trail, Martinsville, died on December 17, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Berlin, Germany on March 02, 1926 to the late C. Herbert and Elly Wilde Mahnkopf. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin J. Young.

She was of the Lutheran Faith. She graduated high school in Germany and also graduated from Roesner Commercial Business College in Berlin, Germany. She worked at the former Martinsville General Hospital from 1953 until 1964 as a secretary and bookkeeper and, retired after 27 years as a secretary for her Husbands CPA business, Alvin Young's Bookkeeping Service.

She is survived by her son, Michael Mitchell of Florence, SC and her daughter, Linda M. Young of Henrico, VA.

Her graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 12:00 noon at the Roselawn Burial Park cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home on 1604 Sam Lions Trail.
