Euvada Davis Hylton age 83 of Bassett, died Sunday June 26, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. She was born November 24, 1927 at Long Spur, VA in Bland County to the late John Thomas and Mable Gertrude Kitts Davis. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother Thomas D. Davis.
She was a member of Bassett Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was active in the United Methodist Women, and the Early Bible Class. She had worked at Dominion LOF Plastics for 12 years.
She is survived by her husband, Oscar Hylton of the home, one son Leroy Sheppard of Johnson City, TN, two daughters, Brenda Dillon of Bassett, and Joyce Sanders of Knoxville, TN, one sister, Mildred Davis of Rural retreat, 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Tuesday June 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Rev. Dorian Powell and Rev. Leroy Sheppard, II officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park in Bassett. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home on 2682 Riverside Drive, Bassett.
