Ethel Ramsey Hodges, age 94, of Martinsville, passed away on January 27, 2016 at the Blue Ridge Rehab Center, Martinsville. She was born on August 24, 1921 in Henry County to the late James Henry and Mary Alice Davis Ramsey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Beaman Hodges, her guardian son, John Milton Hodges and her guardian daughter, Elsie Mae Burgart, her brothers, James, Charlie, Lewis, Sterling, Ed, Harold, Pete, and Glen Ramsey.

She was a member of Fort Trial Baptist Church and had retired from Fieldcrest and she had also worked at DuPont.

Mrs. Hodges was survived by her son, Jesse Bryan Hodges of Glen Allen, VA, her daughter, Peggy Anne Hodges of Naples, FL, her guardian son, Jesse David Hodges, her sisters, Josephine Horsley of Oak Level and Mary Davis of Collinsville, ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

The funeral service for Mrs. Hodges will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Joey McNeil officiating the service. Interment will be private in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the chapel of Roselawn.
