Esther Shelton Gilley age 98 of Toledo and formerly of Henry County, died Wednesday August 8, 2012 at the Franciscan Care Center in Toledo, OH. She was born February 14, 1914 in Twin Rivers, WV to the late Thomas and Mary Lou Grogan Shelton. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Dwight Gilley, daughter Jo Jane Gilley Harris, three sisters, Alma Lou Heath, Juanita Hundley, and Virginia Martin.
She worked as a seamstress in the local knitting mills, and was a member of Villa Heights Baptist Church.
She is survived by one grandson, five nieces, one nephew, and many great nieces and nephews, and other extended family in Henry County.
The graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday August 13, 2012 in the Roselawn Mausoleum with Rev. Keith Spangenberg officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Mausoleum. Visitation and services were also held Friday in Toledo at Newcomer Funeral Home.
