Ernest Thomas Morley, age 96, of Martinsville, died on Tuesday, November 06, 2012 at the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. He was born on January 24, 1916 in Mountain City, TN to the late George and Hattie Burton Morley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Bartlett Morley, his son, Harold Wayne Morley, and two brothers, Winfred and V.B. Morley.
He was a member of the Church of Christ and had retired from E.I. DuPont with over 30 years service as an electrician. He had served in the U.S. Army during the WWII era.
He is survived by his granddaughters, Pam Joyce of Spencer and Terri Morley of Atlantic Beach, NC , two sisters, Thelma Beth Hawley of Fredericksburg, VA and Mae Starnes of Kingsport, TN, and one great-grandchild, Stephanie Joyce of Spencer.
His graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, November 09, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Roselawn Burial Park with John Berlin and Jack Nunn officiating the service and military honors presented by the Martinsville Henry County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Friday for one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Roselawn.
