Ermigene Cannaday Fulcher, 94, of Fieldale, passed away Friday October 29, 2021, at the Fork Mountain Long Term Care Facility in Rocky Mount, VA. She was born in Charity on March 31, 1927, to the late Charlie Mack and Florida Griffith Cannaday. Ermigene worked in Summerfield defense plant in 1945, then later from 1945 until 1964, worked for Fieldcrest Mills in Fieldale until she retired. She was a Girl Scout leader, and an active church member and believer at Stanleytown United Methodist Church.
She was an exceptionally good and loving mother and wife. She was always there when needed no matter what. Her life wasn't easy but she rose above those hard times and was a blessing to those around her. Her happiest times were the birth of her child and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years; Clarence William Fulcher, one son; Danny Charles Fulcher, seven brothers; Odell B, Timothy, Eugene, Edgar, Gilbert, Buford and Irvin Cannaday; two sisters; Atrice Underwood and Geneva Craddock. Surviving are one son and daughter-In-law; Ronald (Jaime) Fulcher, and two grandchildren; Ellison and Campbell Fulcher.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday November 3, 2021, at Stanleytown United Methodist Church with Pastor Justin Epstein and David Westmoreland officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services; interment will be private. Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home and Burial Park entrusted with arrangement.
